The PGA TOUR has officially launched its cutting-edge media production studio in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, setting a new benchmark for golf media production. This 165,000-square-foot facility, located next to the PGA TOUR’s headquarters, promises to revolutionize how golf content is created and shared with fans worldwide, blending advanced technology with compelling storytelling.
A Game-Changer for Golf Media
The newly opened PGA TOUR Studios consolidates all media operations under one roof, producing live broadcasts for PGA TOUR Champions, Korn Ferry Tour, and over 5,000 hours of PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+. Additionally, the facility will produce content for more than 50 original, social, and digital media platforms, further expanding the TOUR’s global reach.
PGA TOUR Studios also boasts the world’s largest golf content library, featuring 170,000 videos totaling 223,000 hours of footage, dating back to 1920. This unparalleled archive provides a treasure trove for creating original content, as showcased in the facility’s debut production featuring Tiger Woods on its virtual set in Studio 1A.
Innovative Technology at the Core
The facility is a marvel of modern production, featuring:
-
Seven LED-equipped studios, including a 270-degree LED display in Studio 1A.
-
Eight production and audio control rooms, capable of monitoring thousands of video and audio feeds simultaneously.
-
A custom-built video review center for live, on-air rulings.
-
A 34-seat theater for screening the latest TOUR content.
-
Podcast-specific booths and a future PGA TOUR Radio station set to launch in 2026.
Rick Anderson, PGA TOUR Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the impact of these advancements: “This production studio will usher in a new era for the PGA TOUR, delivering dynamic stories that bring fans closer to their favorite athletes.”
Fan-Driven Innovations
A key feature of PGA TOUR Studios is the new World Feed, designed exclusively for international media partners. The feed includes customized graphics, cameras focused on international players, and on-site reporters at select FedExCup events. This initiative aims to enhance the international fan experience and marks the first step toward localized live feeds with native-language announcers in the coming years.
“Every innovation we introduce is about serving our fans,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan. “PGA TOUR Studios will deepen connections with our audience through dynamic, high-quality content.”
Cultural and Economic Impact
In addition to creating a new home for golf media, PGA TOUR Studios highlights the sport’s intersection with culture through its partnership with Pro Shop, a Hollywood-based production company specializing in premium golf-related content.
Designed by Foster + Partners and HLW International, the facility represents a significant investment in northeast Florida, with an estimated annual economic impact of $112 million, adding to the TOUR’s existing $1 billion impact in the region.
Looking Ahead
PGA TOUR Studios is set to transform how fans engage with golf, blending storytelling, cutting-edge technology, and fan feedback to shape its offerings. The launch of the World Feed during THE PLAYERS tournament marks the beginning of a global strategy to cater to golf enthusiasts around the world, paving the way for localized content in the future.
