MELS, the Montreal-based production powerhouse, is strengthening its international reach with the appointment of Aurée Lepage as Director of International Business Development in Los Angeles. The move marks a strategic push to align MELS more closely with Hollywood studios, reinforcing its reputation as a top-tier destination for film and TV production.
Long known for its cutting-edge soundstages, postproduction services, and permanent virtual production capabilities, MELS has played a key role in the Canadian film industry. Now, by establishing a presence in Los Angeles, the studio aims to provide Hollywood executives with a direct line to its state-of-the-art facilities in Quebec.
Lepage, a seasoned industry executive with nearly 30 years of experience, has worked on high-profile projects like The Aviator, The Day After Tomorrow, and The Terminal. Most recently, she represented the Quebec Film and Television Council, working to attract major productions to Montreal. “I intend to establish a strong presence in L.A. and show our partners that MELS offers an outstanding integrated package with world-class soundstages, postproduction services, and creative expertise,” she said.
The expansion comes at a time when global productions are increasingly seeking cost-effective solutions without sacrificing quality. MELS’ presence in Hollywood positions it as a key bridge between the U.S. and international markets, offering studios new options for high-end production and postproduction services.
