In a significant move for London’s production landscape, Garden Studios has unveiled four new sound stages, effectively doubling its capacity and solidifying its position as one of the largest production campus in central London. This expansion brings the facility’s total to eight stages, encompassing 98,000 square feet of stage space, complemented by 90,000 square feet of warehouse facilities, 40,000 square feet of production offices, and two expansive unit base lots exceeding 30,000 square feet each.
Since its inception in early 2021, Garden Studios has been a hub for a diverse array of productions. Notable projects include major set builds for films like “Argylle” and “Wonka,” as well as hosting complete production teams for Amazon’s “My Lady Jane,” Canal+‘s “We Live in Time,” and ITV’s revival of “Big Brother.” The studio’s clientele spans a wide spectrum, from feature films and independent projects to high-end television and entertainment shows, collaborating with industry giants such as Netflix, Amazon Studios, Apple Studios, BBC Studios, Canal+, Initial TV, and Working Title.
The newly introduced sound stages—Rose (15,207 sq ft), Orchid 1 (15,026 sq ft), Orchid 2 (12,863 sq ft), and Orchid 3 (7,187 sq ft)—are designed to accommodate multiple high-end TV productions and independent films simultaneously. Each stage is equipped with top-tier facilities, including workshops, offices, and ample parking. This strategic development sets Garden Studios apart from other large-scale campuses, particularly those with larger stages located farther from central London, by offering medium-sized stages that cater to a variety of production needs within the city’s core.
Bee Devine, the Chief Operating Officer of Garden Studios, emphasized the studio’s rapid growth and its appeal to a broad spectrum of clients. “In the past six months alone, Garden’s expansion has attracted clients seeking versatility, flexibility, and exceptional service,” Devine stated. “Our unwavering commitment to sustainability, combined with our permanent Virtual Production (VP) stage, streamlines complex location shoots, mitigates risks, and fosters production innovation.”
The Rose Campus is slated to commence operations in March 2025. Boasting scenic canal views from its offices and talent rooms, Rose also features two galleries specifically designed for entertainment productions. Meanwhile, the Orchid stages are set to host a high-end TV drama starting in late summer, with productions scheduled to continue through 2026.
A standout feature of Garden Studios is its status as the sole sound stage campus in London equipped with a permanent LED wall dedicated to virtual production. This cutting-edge wall has recently been expanded to 20 meters in width and 5 meters in height, making it particularly advantageous for a wide range of shoots, especially intricate car sequences. To date, Garden Studios has facilitated 120 virtual production projects, encompassing commercials, promotional content, music videos, high-end television, and film productions.
As Garden Studios continues to evolve, it remains steadfast in its mission to provide state-of-the-art facilities and innovative solutions, solidifying its role as a cornerstone of London’s vibrant production community.
