This brand-new LED volume incorporates Pixomondo’s (PXO) latest innovations, offering a state-of-the-art virtual production environment built for maximum flexibility and performance.
The stage features a 50 ft diameter, 23 ft tall, 14 ft deep semi-circular volume, with a full LED ceiling mounted on a motorized gantry system. This allows filmmakers to transition seamlessly between a softbox lighting array and an interactive, reflection-accurate source in minutes.
Two rapid mobile wild walls, each 20 ft wide by 16.5 ft tall, operate on precision-engineered air castors (hover-wall), enabling quick, near-effortless repositioning to support dynamic, on-the-fly set adjustments.
At the heart of the stage are 1,200 Sony Verona 2.3mm LED panels, encompassing both walls and ceiling, delivering exceptional color fidelity and image quality. The system is powered by dual RTX6000 GPUs for real-time rendering and compute and supported by Vicon motion capture for precise tracking. A TechnoDolly 25 adds advanced camera movement capabilities, while PXO’s Digital Twin suite enables full previsualization, real-time stage control, and centralized system management.
Compatible with both Unreal Engine 5.5+ and Pixera, this volume delivers a flexible, high-performance solution for productions requiring both CG and 2D content playback. Together, these elements create an agile, cinematographer-friendly environment that supports bold creative decisions with technical precision.
The stage will also offer filmmakers the opportunity to use PXO AKIRA, PXO’s groundbreaking vehicle-processing ecosystem that revolutionizes how driving scenes are captured. PXO AKIRA includes a motion platform with unlimited yaw, independent suspension and a robotic camera crane, all perfectly synced with the LED wall to create a seamless connection between 3D elements and 2D content. PXO AKIRA is also equipped with a digital twin software suite, enabling full previsualization, real-time stage control, and centralized system management, seamlessly and automatically connecting pre-production planning with on-set execution.
