Offers several standing sets on its grounds. Just a ten minute walk can take you from the ancient Rome to modern day New York, the Middle East and the Orient.

Currently Studio 1 has six sound stages at your disposal. All located in and around the main building – starting from 300 sq.m to 1500 sq.m of studio space.
Stage 01 and 03– Both stages are exactly the same in size. With a total are of 752 sq.m these are the smaller stages at our studio. Both stages have the following features:
– Wood flooring
– In-house fixed, tungsten lighting available as fill lighting packages
– Direct connection with supporting facilities
Stage 02– Between stages 01 and stage 03 you have stage 02 with almost 1250 sq.m of total space. This stage has the following features:
– Wood flooring.
– In-house fixed lighting and multiple lighting packages.
– Direct connection with supporting facilities.

Stage 05– Has a total area of almost 1500 sq.m and is currently the largest stage at our facility.

New York Streets

The latest addition to our backlot with more than 800 sq.m of New York City, consisting of several streets, alleys and many interior sets. It comes with a fully operational subway entrance, traffic lights, busses and cabs as well as other vehicles. All the constructions are 18 meters high and offer 2nd, 3rd or 4th floor visual shooting.

ROMAN SET

With almost 900 sq.m, Studio 1 offers one of the grandest standing Roman sets in the world. It comprises a central city square, a mini colosseum, a roman garden, narrow streets and alley’s, training quarters and a variety of interiors. Productions who used this set include Spartacus, War Inc. and Roman Mysteries.

MIDDLE EASTERN STREET

Build for War Inc. at the end of 2006, this street is still standing and usable. It has arches, practical interiors and and looks phenomenal.

WARTIME ITALIAN SET

Our wartime Italian set is now avilable for productions. This set is built close to sound stages 1, 2 and 3 which makes it convinient for internal shooting as well. Coupled with our extensive uniform warderobe and it can be used for almost any wartime drama.

GULAG CAMP

Built in the back lot forest near the Studio, the Gulag Camp is an authentic reproduction of Stalin’s infamous labor camps. It was built as a backdrop for Peter Weir’s feature “The Way Back”.

JAPANESE DOJO

The Japanese Dojo set was built for the the newly released film “Ninja”. In perfect condition it is ready for the next project.

FOREST BLACK LOT

The picturesque forest is located right behind the Studio and is a perfect outdoor shooting location. It provides a range of natural settings from meadows to enchanted woods and stone rivers.

PRISON, HOSPITAL, POLICE STATION

Built in Stage 8 with it’s long corridors is able to be used as a Police Station, Hospital or Prison.

Studio 2

Studio 2 has 4 stages – 5000 m2 (53,819 sq. ft.) complex with back-lot located 22 kilometers from the Sofia city center in an area called Dolna Malina. In addition to the studio there is over 56,000 m2 (602,778 sq. ft.) of back-lot and expansion area for new exterior standing sets and new Stages.
Presently Studio 2’s Back-lot has a Standing Western Town, American Town with gas station, a Medieval Village, a 15th Century Galleon Ship and an Arctic Research Station.
Plans are to build 4 more 1000 m2 Stages (10,763 sq. ft.) dedicated to Television and commercial production over the next 2 years.

Stage 1

The Largest Stage in Bulgaria has large vehicle access from 3 Elephant Doors allowing full size trucks to be brought directly onto the Stage.

Stage 3

One of the larger special effects- syc Stages in Europe, it has full size Elephant door access from both sides to allow moving vehicles to enter and exit the Stage for green screen/ blue screen work. This Stage has been especially designed for large format special effects work based on Studio 2’s over 20 years of work with digital special effects.

Stage 4

This Stage has a built in pool area that will allow interior water sets or the ability to flood standing sets. In addition when the pool is covered this set will allow camera operators to get under sets, at floor level without having to build raised sets.

WESTERN TOWN
With a fully functional Saloon, hotel, church, blacksmith, livery stable and bank this is a full size western town that can easily play various periods from the early 1800’s up to the early 30’s with signage changes and additional props.

AMERICAN TOWN
4 city blocks with side walks, crossings and street lights including a hotel, bar, city hall, sheriff’s office, medical center and stores including a full size market. Directly annexed to the town is a gas station connected by the main road into the city center. 65% of the buildings are fully functional allowing for full interior to exterior shooting.

MEDIEVAL TOWN
Village can easily play from the 10th century until more recent periods such the 17th century by making prop and set dressing adjustments.

GALLEON SHIP
A full size Galleon ship that plays from the 14th until the 17th century with changes in mast and set dressing. Ship has easy accessibility through the hull to allow simple actor and crew access.

ARCTIC STATION
Over 600 m2 (6458 sq. ft.) Antarctic Facility that is surfaced with concrete to allow easy snow coverage. The station can look like it is sitting in the middle of ice and snow- winter or summer.
