At the nexus of the seven-acre plus campus lies a 24,000 sq. ft. sound stage housing the most advanced independent in-camera visual effects (ICVFX) volume and suite of services designed from the ground up to work directly with productions of all types, from high-end feature films to independent video projects. Epic Games has chosen to co-locate its newest Los Angeles Lab at the Innovation Campus.

In-Camera VFX
In-camera Visual Effects or “ICVFX” as it is commonly known, is an evolution in methodologies of projection-based film making that have their roots in the dawn of cinema. Leveraging state of the art LED displays and real-time rendering engines, scenes can be captured in the moment of principal photography, whereas traditionally they would have evolved over a long post production process.

What is the RAD? NantStudios’ Real-time Art Department (RAD) is a multifaceted real-time VFX studio that leverages the tools and techniques of virtual production and ICVFX to streamline and revolutionize digital media production. This novel form of studio is built from the ground up, with real-time technology at its core. Liberated from legacy pipelines of traditional VFX, our future-focused team operates with unparalleled efficiency to bring your creative dreams to life faster than ever before.

Motion Control & Robotics
General Lift has been serving the motion picture and commercial film business for over 40 years. We have a long history of providing innovative and creative solutions for the many challenging shots our clients have created. We designed and built the first underwater motion control system, the Aquaflex, for the film “Hollow Man” (1999).
