NY State Tax Incentive

Buffalo Filmworks is also located in a renewal and empowerment zone which allows productions to not only qualify for the NYS state tax credit but also for the 181 federal tax credit.

With the passing of the governor’s budget for 2024 the tax credit in NYS has been increased to 700,000 million per year. The credit is 30% on below the line and now above the line expenses and if you come to Buffalo there is a 10% increase in the credit making it a true 40%. The budget has also added a relocation credit for any established series that would come to the Upstate NY region. Not to mention that Guillermo Del Torro states that WNY film Commission and Tim Clark are the best you will ever find in the whole world.
