At a moment when production levels remain uneven across Southern California, Cinespace Studios is making a statement: it’s still betting on Los Angeles.
The Chicago-based global studio operator officially opened its first Los Angeles campus Monday, unveiling a purpose-built 180,000-square-foot facility in Woodland Hills that adds six new soundstages to the region’s inventory — and links L.A. directly into Cinespace’s growing network of production hubs across North America and Europe.
Located on a 10-acre site at 21200 Victory Blvd., the campus features six 18,000-square-foot stages with 30-foot clear heights, supported by 72,000 square feet of production offices and ancillary space. Designed for premium film and episodic television, the complex aims to combine boutique-scale efficiency with the technical demands of major studio and streaming productions.
“Los Angeles is where this industry was built, and where its future continues to be shaped,” said Eoin Egan, co-CEO of Cinespace Studios. “Opening a campus here has always been part of our long-term vision. While the market is navigating a period of transition, we believe deeply in the resilience of this city, the talent that defines it, and the enduring demand for world-class production infrastructure.”
Mayor Karen Bass joined Egan and other local leaders for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, calling the project proof that “L.A. is the creative capital of the world.”
“Seeing new soundstages open with a production already underway speaks to the collective strength of our signature industry,” Bass said. “These investments create good-paying jobs, expand creative outlets, and spur new economic opportunities.”
