PARADISE VALLEY, Mont. — A-list celebrities Samuel L. Jackson and Pierce Brosnan are working on a new western that’s filming at the Yellowstone Film Ranch. StageRunner in association with NBC got an exclusive visit to the ranch for a behind-the-scenes look at the production.
Since the last time we visited the Yellowstone Film Ranch in the Paradise Valley, a lot of changes have been made for the new western film “Unholy Trinity” — new houses constructed, new paint jobs and new names for some buildings.
We spoke to co-owner Carter Boehm to find out how production is going.
“It’s probably the biggest film we’ve done, even though we’ve had Nicolas Cage. But to have Samuel L. Jackson, Pierce Brosnan, David Arquette, Tim Daly, I mean we have a lot of stars in this, so we’re real pleased,” Boehm said.
Boehm said it take about 30 days for preproduction crews to set up the film ranch before actors and other production crew arrive.
There was one challenge that put a small pause on production — the Montana weather.
“We went from a nice, sunny day to snow and blizzard. So we had to go ahead and get a bunch of people, we had to spray liquid, salt. I mean it was a big effort, but we did get that done,” Boehm said.
Rain or snow, Boehm says the film is on track to wrap up in the next two weeks.
He adds if his film ranch continues to land big movies consistently, there’s a chance for an expansion.
“We want to put a railroad station in with a full steam locomotive. We hope that we’re going to get a movie that needs a railroad station, and that’ll give us the impetus to go ahead and build it,” said Boehm.
Following “Unholy Trinity,” there are three more projects slated to come to the film ranch.
