‘Ginny & Georgia’ Exec Producer Holly A. Hines Launches L.A. Studio Happy Accidents With Veteran Producer Eric Jarboe
“Ginny & Georgia” exec producer Holly A. Hines has partnered with Eric Jarboe, former COO of the Motion Picture Corporation of America (MPCA), to launch new L.A.-based film and TV studio Happy Accidents.
The studio will work with international partners to produce and distribute a wide range of original content including films, scripted and unscripted series, documentaries and formats. Happy Accidents will also distribute third-party content internationally.
Hines and Jarboe will be co-CEOs, managing both the creative and financial, and have already assembled a sales team including GRB Studios alum Sarah Coursey and Tyler Massey, formerly of Eyeworks Distribution.
As well as “Ginny & Georgia” Hines was behind U.S./Australian co-production “Please Like Me” and “Fortitude” and was a producer on “The Office,” “Ugly Betty” and “The Tudors.” She previously worked for Spotify Studios as head of network development as well as completing stints at Pivot and Fremantle North America.
Jarboe meanwhile has produced over 130 films and 125 episodes of scripted television. Production credits include Mariah Carey and Courtney Cox’s directorial debuts as well as Netflix’s first original Christmas films.
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with Eric to launch our new studio, Happy Accidents,” said Hines. “Happy Accidents is our vision of a 21st-century studio and celebrates the confluence of rich talent, extensive expertise, and pervasive reach in the increasingly global marketplace.”
Jarboe said: “Producers in this era of content have the potential to shape the narrative landscape for years to come and Happy Accidents signifies a strategic convergence of experience, vision, and passion from all corners of the entertainment industry. Holly and I are focused on global collaboration, partnerships, innovative financing models, and the highest-quality production standards. I couldn’t imagine a more formidable partnership.”
Happy Accidents is launching at MIP TV, where Hines and Jarboe will be arriving with their first slates from Syrup Studios and Critical Content, including Christmas movies, mysteries and shows such as “Storage Hunters.”
